Conrad Faraj / United States / 1 minute
Synopsis
"A man travels to New York City to mourn the loss of an old lover."
A tiny critique for a tiny movie. This was a sizable challenge: telling a story in such a very short time?
The means used for a 1’30-footage are impressive.
Technically it’s all good— the 4:3 aspect ratio, the music that doesn’t fall into the trap of miserabilism… And best quality: the wonderful text, real pillar of this beautifully-written « Phantom ».
Of course, the flip side of this kind of exercise is that it is hard to deepen the emotion, which means the audience cannot be completely invested. But you’ll admire the concept anyway.
Conclusion
After this condensed nice work, we look forward to seeing what this director may have in store for a long format!
U.N.
